Premise

"Escape Room In a Box Game the Werewolf Experiment" challenges players to thwart the plans of a mad scientist who aims to turn them into werewolves. To succeed, teams must solve 19 puzzles, both 2D and 3D, within an hour. While the premise sounds intriguing, the gameplay took center stage during our experience, leaving us somewhat puzzled about the story.

Components

The game includes locked boxes that players must unlock by deciphering three-digit combination codes. Clues provided throughout the game help you deduce these codes. However, one notable issue is the flimsiness of the locks, as one of them accidentally opened without the correct code input.

Gameplay

The primary objective in "Escape Room: The Game" is to unlock the final box by collecting three-digit codes from various puzzles within the game, including those hidden in other locked boxes.

Summary

Lackluster Story: The game's narrative failed to capture our interest, feeling forgettable and unrealistic.

Varied Puzzle Quality: While some puzzles were engaging, others, like crossword puzzles and spot-the-difference challenges, didn't feel like typical escape room fare.

✖️ Inferior Components: The quality of the locked boxes and the locks was subpar. An issue with the locks allowing incorrect combinations to open them was particularly concerning.

Verdict

Considering its price point, it faces tough competition from other escape room game series like Unlock! and Exit. While it offers an okay escape room experience, it lacks the elements that would make it stand out.
