Premise

In Perspectives, each player holds key information for piecing together what has happened and finding the solution.

• Three cases, each in four acts.
• Cross-reference photographs, reports, and clues... without looking at the documents of your team players
• Will you find the details connecting all the pieces of the puzzle?

Components

The game includes a tutorial and three cases. While it doesn't come with many components, the artwork on the cards is stunning and adds to the experience. The card quality is excellent, allowing you to see all the intricate details.

Gameplay

The game begins with a tutorial using images from the front and sides of the box cover. Once completed, you'll proceed to solve three cases, each with four acts. Each act poses a specific question you must answer to advance (e.g., "Who stole the cookie from the cookie jar?").

Puzzles/Thoughts

➕ Engaging and Enjoyable Story: The mysteries across all three cases are compelling and immersive. At times, it felt like we were stepping into the characters' lives.

➕ Satisfying "A-ha" Moments: The puzzles and deductions required in the game are gratifying, providing those dopamine-releasing moments of discovery.

➕ Beautiful Artwork: The art enhances the overall gaming experience.

➕ Communication is Key: Discussing clues and collaborating with teammates to piece together information is a fun and integral part of the game.

➖ Unique Concept: The emphasis on communication might not appeal to everyone. While our team enjoyed it, it could be frustrating for players who struggle with clearly conveying the information on their cards.

✖️ Some Tedious Acts: A couple of acts felt tedious, requiring detailed descriptions of characters or repetitive back-and-forth discussions about timelines. These moments detracted from the experience and made me want to move on more quickly.

Verdict

Perspectives offers a unique and engaging twist on the murder mystery genre. Despite a few minor drawbacks, our team had a thoroughly enjoyable experience. I highly recommend this game and look forward to future installments with even more refined gameplay.
