- Ragnarök
Components

3 decks of scenario-specific cards
Tutorial cards
Rulebook
Solution guide
Additionally, each case includes unique elements that enhance its theme.
Gameplay
The game starts with a single card. As you progress, you’ll solve puzzles to reveal new cards and unlock new challenges.
Unlock! features a variety of puzzle mechanics:
Card Combination: Some puzzles require you to combine two numbers (e.g., 2 + 4 = 6, reveal card #6).
App Integration: Entering codes in the app determines success (new cards) or failure (time penalties).
Hidden Numbers: Some cards conceal numbers within their artwork, requiring players to spot them to progress.
If stuck, the app provides hints and also serves as the game’s timer. Completing the final challenge requires entering a code into the app, which then calculates your final score based on time and hints used.
Puzzles/Thoughts
➖Decent First Case. Nova City Under Threat was a mixed experience. Some puzzles were fun, while others felt a bit confusing or lackluster.
✖️Disastrous Third Case. Ragnarök was the worst Unlock! scenario I’ve ever played. The puzzles were poorly designed, often unintuitive, and frustratingly obscure. It felt as though it hadn’t been properly playtested.
Verdict
Unlock!: Supernatural Adventures is a mixed bag. If you avoid the third case, it’s a passable experience, but overall, it ranks among the weakest in the series. If possible, I’d recommend skipping this set and trying to play Día de Los Muertos separately.
